I live in an apartment, and I’m in Lane County in Oregon. Does anyone know the regulations? I’d like to donate it, or at least recycle or something, but I got it as a double hand-me-down, so I don’t think anyone else would find it comfortable.
I am buying a new mattress, but I’m getting it delivered in the city I’m moving to, so I’d have to move the old mattress to the new city for the delivery people to swap it out. Not so efficient.

Also, I’m pretty sure the bed is so worn and saggy that no charity would take it as a donation. I had a similar experience while trying to get rid of a couch a couple of years ago.

I bought a mattress from Costco and it was two pieces… the bottom box spring set and then the mattress. My bed is really low and it looks funky with both of these, so I gave away the bottom box spring and just use the mattress. I should’ve asked this before, but is there any advantage to using a box spring other than adding height? I hope I didn’t lose back support by using the mattress without it. Thanks a lot in advance!

It felt great at first, but after not much more than a week it started losing support. I’ve given it some time to make sure it wasn’t just a “breaking-in” period creating an illusion of lack of support. It’s been nearly 3 months now, and the bed is garbage. It’s softer and sagging more than the 4 year old, cheap mattress we had before. The difference is obvious. If I lay in the middle of the bed, which is practically unused, it’s still comfortable and supporting. When I start moving closer to the side where i normally sleep, the difference is VERY obvious. I am less that 180lbs and should not wear out a $2400 mattress in a matter of a few weeks.
I know there have to be better beds out there with good support that will last. Any ideas would be helpfull.

Our father in law gave us his older California King Mattress set, but the frame he sent is missing some parts so I thought I would just get a new one off of Ebay or something. But it seems that California King Bed frames are hard to come by. Is that because a standard King frame will fit both?
I would just order the missing parts if I knew where. It’s missing a couple of clamps and some wheels.

I want to have my crib and pack-and-play bassinet all ready for our newborn’s arrival but I’m not sure how to make up the crib/mattress. Do I first put down the waterproof pad protector and then the fitted crib sheet or am I missing something else in between? Thanks for your help!

It has to be approximately queen-sized, firm, but taking a little bit of stress off the body so it isn’t just sleeping on the floor. Really want to spend less than $300-$400.
