What is the average life span on a mattress/boxspring set?
Just wondering how long they last.
I’ve had this mattress/box spring set since 2000 (bought new). It’s been moved about 3 times (to different houses). I noticed just last night the boxspring is sagging (I think it broke) on my hubby’s side. Yeah,…. I think it’s time to get a new one.
I have a queen mattress set and bought and Ikea bed frame?
We set it up last night, but I’m not sure if the two go together. We assembled this weird center metal piece that connects to the sides and has a middle bar. I looked under the bed this morning and the bed isn’t sitting on the side rails but insead is resting on this contraption in the middle. Is that how its suppose to work, the bars are bent from the weight but its holding up it just squeeks and doesn’t seem right to me.
Has anyone else put an american mattress and box spring on an Ikea bed frame using this metal center contraption (hamar)?
What is the most confortable mattress to sleep on?
What I am looking for is a Queen size mattress set for under $500 and I like a softer (less firm). I have a Simons Beautyrest firm (cost over $1100) that has a 20 year warranty and is in its 12th year.
But either the mattress has changed or my back has because lately it is like sleeping on a slab of concrete.
How many of you do not have an actual mattress/box spring set, or bedframe and headboard?
Lately when I’ve been watching shoes like Wife Swap, and Trading Spouses, I was surprised at how many households didn’t have these things. Quite a few families just had a mattress on the floor with pillows and bedding.
Since it’s obvious these families could afford to purchase these items, and they’re obviously not embarassed to show their rooms on national television, I’m wondering if this is not as uncommon as I thought. What about all of you?
This question is not for people who use sofa beds or futons instead, but just a question to find out how many people just have mattresses. Or maybe this is common for just the rooms of teenagers and young children? Though some of the adult rooms only had mattresses other bedroom items.
I meant to say “shows” not shoes.
Also, the families were not embarrassed.
Picking out a good double mattress and foundation set for a toddler?
We are switching our toddler to a “big” bed from his crib in the next couple months and are overwhelmed by all the different mattress choices. We decided on a double set so that it can grow with him and we can go in a sleep with him when he needs us to. Any help or similiar experience would be much appreciated! Thanks!
